This 7-day Champa Heritage Journey follows the ancient cultural corridor of Central Vietnam, tracing the legacy of the Champa civilization from Tra Kieu – ancient Simhapura, through My Son Sanctuary, Dong Duong – Indrapura, Vijaya in Quy Nhon, Kauthara in Nha Trang, and finally Panduranga in Phan Rang, where Cham culture remains deeply alive today.
Unlike a standard sightseeing tour, this journey is designed as a cultural narrative. Guests do not only visit ancient Cham towers; they travel through the political capitals, sacred valleys, archaeological ruins, spiritual centers and living craft villages that reveal the soul of one of Southeast Asia’s most fascinating maritime civilizations.
From the sacred valley of My Son to the powerful towers of Vijaya, from the Mother Goddess Po Nagar in Nha Trang to the pottery and weaving villages of Panduranga, this itinerary connects architecture, religion, history, landscape and living communities into one meaningful journey.

Upon arrival at Da Nang International Airport, guests are welcomed by the Golden Life Travel guide and transferred to Da Nang city.
The journey begins with a visit to the Da Nang Museum of Cham Sculpture, an essential first stop before entering the ancient Champa heritage route. The museum houses one of the world’s most important collections of Cham sculpture, including masterpieces from My Son, Tra Kieu, Dong Duong and Binh Dinh styles.
Here, guests are introduced to the symbolic world of Champa: Shiva, Vishnu, Brahma, Apsara dancers, Garuda, Makara, Linga-Yoni, Buddhist figures and royal altar reliefs. This visit provides the “key” to understanding the temples and towers that will appear throughout the journey.
After the museum visit, transfer to Hoi An / Quang Nam for hotel check-in.
In the evening, enjoy a gentle walk through Hoi An Ancient Town, a former international trading port where Vietnamese, Cham, Chinese, Japanese and European influences once met along the maritime routes of Central Vietnam.
Overnight: Hoi An / Quang Nam
Meals: Dinner

After breakfast, depart for My Son Sanctuary, one of the most important religious sites of the Champa civilization.
Located in a green valley surrounded by mountains, My Son was not a political capital but a sacred religious center where Cham kings built temples to worship Shiva and connect royal power with divine authority. The red-brick towers, stone altars, inscriptions and sacred layout of the valley reveal the deep spiritual imagination of Champa.
Guests explore the main tower groups and learn about:
If timing allows, enjoy a short traditional Cham performance at the site.
Continue to Tra Kieu, widely associated with ancient Simhapura, meaning “Lion City”. Tra Kieu was one of the early political centers of Champa in the Amaravati region. Today, little of the ancient capital remains visible above ground, but the landscape, archaeological memory and connection with My Son make it a powerful storytelling stop.
This is not a place to simply “see ruins”; it is a place to imagine how a vanished capital once stood within the fertile Thu Bon basin, connected to religion, trade, agriculture and royal power.
Return to Hoi An in the late afternoon.
Overnight: Hoi An / Quang Nam
Meals: Breakfast, Lunch

After breakfast, depart from Hoi An and travel south toward Quy Nhon, the historic region of Vijaya, one of the most powerful political capitals of Champa in the later period.
On the way, the guide introduces the story of Dong Duong – ancient Indrapura, a major Mahayana Buddhist capital of Champa established under King Indravarman II in the late 9th century. Dong Duong represents a very different face of Champa: not only Hindu temples and Shiva worship, but also a sophisticated Buddhist artistic and religious tradition.
Depending on the group’s interest and road conditions, the tour may include either:
Recommended for most leisure and B2B groups. The Dong Duong story is explained through historical interpretation, supported by what guests have seen at the Cham Museum in Da Nang.
Recommended for academic, archaeological or deeply cultural groups. Today, the site remains mainly as archaeological ruins with limited visible structures, but it holds great historical value.
Lunch en route.
Continue to Quy Nhon. Upon arrival, check in at the hotel and relax.
If time permits, visit Twin Towers of Quy Nhon, a unique Cham tower complex located right inside the modern coastal city. This is a gentle introduction to the Vijaya period before the deeper exploration on the next day.
Overnight: Quy Nhon
Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

Today is one of the most important days of the journey, dedicated to Vijaya, the great political capital of Champa from around the 10th–11th century until the historic turning point of 1471.
Unlike My Son, which was a sacred valley, Vijaya was a political and military center. It was here that Champa entered a period of powerful architecture, diplomacy, warfare, maritime trade and major encounters with neighboring kingdoms.
Begin with a visit to the area of Do Ban Citadel / Hoang De Citadel, associated with the former Champa capital of Vijaya. The site is not preserved as a complete ancient city today, but it carries multiple historical layers: Champa, Dai Viet, Tay Son and modern Vietnam.
Continue to Canh Tien Tower, located near the ancient capital area. Its elegant structure and historical setting make it a meaningful stop for understanding the sacred and royal landscape of Vijaya.
Next, visit Duong Long Towers, one of the most impressive Cham tower complexes in Binh Dinh. With three tall brick towers rising powerfully from the landscape, Duong Long reflects the strength, ambition and architectural confidence of the Vijaya period.
Lunch at a local restaurant.
In the afternoon, visit Banh It Towers, one of the most beautiful Cham tower groups in Central Vietnam. Standing on a hill overlooking the surrounding plains, the towers create a powerful relationship between architecture and landscape. From here, guests can feel how Cham sacred architecture was placed not randomly, but in dialogue with mountains, rivers, fields and the sea.
Return to Quy Nhon.
In the evening, enjoy a local dinner. Optional storytelling dinner theme: “Vijaya – The Last Great Political Stage of Champa.”
Overnight: Quy Nhon
Meals: Breakfast, Lunch

After breakfast, depart Quy Nhon and continue south along the beautiful Central Vietnam coastline.
Arrive in Tuy Hoa, Phu Yen, and visit Nhan Tower, a Cham tower located on Nhan Mountain overlooking the city and the Da Rang River. Tuy Hoa was not a major capital like Vijaya or Panduranga, but Nhan Tower is an important coastal Cham heritage stop along the cultural route from north to south.
The visit helps guests understand that Champa was not only a chain of capitals, but also a network of coastal sacred sites, trade routes and regional cultural spaces.

Lunch in Tuy Hoa.
Continue to Nha Trang, the ancient region of Kauthara, a major Cham principality and sacred center associated with the Mother Goddess Po Nagar.
Upon arrival, check in at the hotel. The rest of the day is free for relaxation by the beach or a gentle city walk.
Overnight: Nha Trang
Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

After breakfast, visit Po Nagar Towers, the spiritual landmark of ancient Kauthara and one of the most important living Cham heritage sites in Vietnam.
Po Nagar is dedicated to the Mother Goddess, known in Cham tradition as Yan Po Nagar. Unlike many archaeological ruins, this site remains active in worship and ritual practice. It represents the deep continuity between Cham belief, Vietnamese folk worship and the living spiritual landscape of Nha Trang today.
At Po Nagar, guests learn about:
After the visit, depart for Phan Rang, the historic region of Panduranga, the southern Cham heartland and one of the most important areas where Cham culture remains visibly alive today.
Upon arrival, visit Po Klong Garai Tower, one of the most iconic monuments of Panduranga. Located on a hill overlooking the dry landscape of Phan Rang, the tower is associated with King Po Klong Garai, who is remembered and venerated in Cham tradition.
Here, Champa is no longer only a memory of lost capitals. It becomes a living presence: in ritual, identity, community and cultural continuity.
If time allows, visit Bau Truc Pottery Village, one of the oldest pottery villages in Southeast Asia, where Cham artisans still shape clay by hand using traditional techniques. Guests observe the process of pottery-making and learn how earth, fire and human hands preserve cultural memory.
Check in at the hotel in Phan Rang.
Overnight: Phan Rang
Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

My Nghiep Weaving Village — where Cham heritage lives on through every thread, every pattern, and every graceful movement of the loom
After breakfast, visit My Nghiep Weaving Village, a living heritage village of the Cham community in Panduranga. Here, traditional patterns, colors and weaving techniques are passed through generations, especially through the hands of Cham women.
This visit gives the journey a human and emotional ending. After temples, towers and ancient capitals, guests now meet Cham culture in daily life: in fabric, hands, patterns, rhythm and memory.
Depending on flight time, an additional visit may be arranged to:
Transfer to Cam Ranh International Airport for departure flight.
End of services.
